Spring Coffee Morning

Our Coffee Morning is back!

Tickets cost £3 each and will provide you with tea/coffee or cold drink and a hot filled roll – other goodies will be available at extra cost!

Our ever popular Tombola also returns and donations for it are invited.

As it’s Spring we’re making use of our Grounds for some stalls and a ‘Scout Family Car Boot Sale’ – to sell…. anything!! A pitch costs £10 and can be reserved online, https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/spring-coffee-morning-tickets-326393641167 .

Also again – all the Brownie Packs from Inverleith St. Serf’s Church are taking part and have stalls both inside and out.

To ensure the event is as successful as possible we’ll be issuing out tickets to each family with a Beaver, Cub, Scout or Explorer Scout in our Group. Please try to sell the tickets to family and friends, or use them yourself! Any unsold tickets should be returned to the Section Leaders.

Everyone and anyone is, of course, very welcome to come along – so tell your friends, family and neighbours!

Tickets will be on sale on the door, but it will help us if you reserve tickets online in advance before paying on the day, https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/spring-coffee-morning-tickets-326393641167 .

We look forward to seeing you all on the 14th May.

Inspiring Talk #4 – Bruce Mouat

We are lucky to announce that our next “Inspiring Speaker” is Bruce Mouat. Bruce Captained the Men’s Silver medal winning Curling team at February’s Winter Olympics.

He is one of the UK’s most successful curlers and, in addition to the Olympics he is the current World Mixed Doubles Champion, and has previously held various European and other World titles.

The Talk will be on Tuesday 10th May at 7pm. Bruce will be at our Scout Hall on South Trinity Road in person, so we encourage you to come along. We will also be broadcasting the talk so you will be able to watch and ask questions online also.

This is a free event, open to all to attend. However, to have an idea of numbers both in person and online we would appreciate if you could click on the link below to register your attendance.

Whilst the event is free, any donations you can give will help us in our goal to replace the roof of our Scout Hall. A link to the Just Giving site is below.

Inspiring Talks Series

We are delighted to launch our Inspiring Talks Series which features people who have excelled in their fields and achieved success in tackling and overcoming significant challenges.

Our first talk is on 25th March at 7pm where we will hear from Derek Spence who has completed the infamous Marathon des Sables (MdS) three times – a multistage ultra-marathon in the Sahara Desert described as the “toughest footrace in the world”. Last year Derek rowed across the Atlantic in the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge – the toughest rowing race in the world!  Derek will share some of his experiences and talk about the challenges of endurance events and what motivates him.

The live event will be held on zoom and will last up to 1 hour which includes the talk and a live Q&A session.
